Three glass cups full of iced pumpkin spice chai tea latte.

The perfect drink to transition into the fall season! It has all the delicious fall pumpkin flavors and is served cold, perfect for when the weather is still a little warm outside. Yum!

Three glass cups full of iced pumpkin spice chai tea latte.

This drink is so simple to make that you can easily enjoy one whenever you want! You can make a big batch of chai tea concentrate and a batch of pumpkin sauce and keep them in your fridge all season. Then they are ready for whenever your pumpkin spice cravings hit. If you love pumpkin pie, you will love this iced pumpkin chai latte recipe!

If you are ready for a warmer drink, give this dairy-free hot chocolate a try!

    Ingredients for Pumpkin Chai Latte

    • Chai Tea Concentrate - I love the chai rooibos herbal tea from Yogi! Any chai tea will do as long as you like the flavor of it. To make homemade chai concentrate, use one teabag per ¼ cup of hot water. This recipe would use 2 chai tea bags.
    • Milk of Choice - Any milk will work! I like to use almond milk in the base of the drink and soy milk for the frothed pumpkin cold foam topping. Play around and figure out what you like best! If you want something richer, you may want to opt for a creamer.
    • Pumpkin Sauce - you can use a store-bought pumpkin spice sauce, or pumpkin spice syrup, but homemade really takes it to the next level! Here is a delicious recipe for pumpkin sauce that is super simple to make.  The amount of pumpkin used is going to vary based on your taste buds! You may want to use more or less. It will also depend on what pumpkin sauce you use, whether homemade or store-bought, etc. If you can't find pumpkin sauce or syrup at your local grocery store, you can at least find all of the ingredients to make it at home!

Glass full of iced pumpkin spice chai tea latte with cinnamon stick and straw.

Many recipes only have you add pumpkin sauce to the frothed cream topping of your latte. I like to add it into the base of the latte as well because I like to have the flavor in every sip! Try it both ways so you know what you like best!

TIP: If you don’t want to make a full batch of pumpkin sauce, you can add a generous teaspoon of pumpkin puree, a generous teaspoon of maple syrup, a splash of vanilla, and a pinch of pumpkin spice to your drink. However, the pumpkin spices might not mix in as well as when you use the prepared pumpkin sauce.

    Instructions

Someone pouring ice into glass cup.
Someone pouring chai tea concentrate over ice.
Someone pouring milk into chai tea concentrate.
Someone pouring frothed milk on top of iced chai.
    1. Make chai tea concentrate by brewing 2 chai rooibos tea bags in ½ cup of hot water.
    2. Fill your glass halfway with ice.
    3. Add ½ cup of chai tea concentrate.
    4. Add ½ cup milk of choice.
    5. Add pumpkin sauce and stir to combine everything well.
    6. In a separate container, combine milk or cream of choice, along with a little more pumpkin sauce, and froth well using an electric frother.
    7. Pour pumpkin cream foam (frothed milk) on top of your iced tea.
    8. Enjoy!

TOP TIP: Let your chai tea concentrate cool before using it for the best results.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Is an iced chai tea latte caffeinated?

This particular recipe is uncaffeinated if you use the chai rooibos tea to make your concentrate. If you use regular chai or buy your latte at a cafe, it will contain natural caffeine from the black tea used. Also, if you have a dirty pumpkin chai, there will be a shot of espresso added, which contains caffeine.

How can I make a pumpkin spice latte low-calorie?

Since this recipe is made with almond and soy milk instead of regular milk and heavy cream, and has less sugar, it is naturally lower in calories than the Starbucks version. It is around 100 calories instead of 500. If you would like to make it even lower in calories, you could use a lower-calorie sweetener in the pumpkin sauce than maple syrup.
