Equipment

  • Ninja Creami Machine

Ingredients

  • ¾ cup strawberries cut
  • 1 medium banana sliced
  • ½ cup yogurt
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla bean paste or vanilla extract
  • 1-2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • ¼-1/2 cup milk

Instructions

  • Combine cut fruit into a ninja creami container.
  • Add yogurt, syrup, and vanilla (if using). Stir everything together.
  • Add in milk until fruit is covered and you reach the max fill line. Stir everything and make sure fruit is still covered with liquid.
  • Freeze on a flat surface until frozen. Ninja Creami's suggested time is 24 hours.
  • When ready to eat, put the container into the outer bowl of the Ninja Creami, secure lid, and load into the NInja Creami Machine.
  • Process the creami using the 'smoothie bowl' option on the regular model. If you have a deluxe model use the 'lite ice cream' setting.
  • Check your smoothie bowl. If it is not a creami texture yet, respin the pint using the 'respin' option. Do this until it comes to the consistency you like. (Some people find it helpful to add a splash of milk after the first spin.)
  • Add your favorite toppings and enjoy!

Notes

  • If you would like to add protein powder, mix it into the milk before pouring it into the other ingredients.
  • If your milk or yogurt has vanilla in it, or if you use vanilla protein powder, you don't need the vanilla bean paste.
  • The amount of syrup will depend on the sweetness of your fruit and your preference.
  • Nutrition facts are calculated using Kite Hill Greek yogurt, Silk unsweetened almond milk, and 1 tablespoon of maple syrup. Please note that the nutrition facts will change depending on your choice of ingredients and extra toppings.
  • See post for topping ideas!
