Equipment

Ingredients

  • 1 cup pumpkin puree
  • ¾ cup maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon lemon juice

Instructions

  • Combine all ingredients in a small saucepan.
  • Heat sauce over medium heat for 2-3 minutes. (see note)

Notes

  • you can use a granulated sugar such as coconut sugar, or brown sugar instead of the maple syrup. However, you will want to make sure to cook the sauce until the sugar has completely dissolved. 
  • if you are using maple syrup, cooking is optional. However, the heat helps to bloom the spices and gives the sauce a deeper flavor.
